As the Crow Flies

A knack for unprecedented trouble,
Unceremoniously, make that double.
Surely, me and you,
Together we just wouldn’t do.

As we walk, dusk descends,
In this hour the moon crescents.
The twinkling stars, seem afar.
The doors of hope still ajar.

Unperturbed by mindless fears,
The captain above this ship doth steers.
Cascading through mind boggling routes,
We’d be wise just to follow suit.

In a daze, but still in place.
Unruffled by that perplexed chase.
Whims of fancy, hold center stage,
Caught in a battle I wouldn’t wage.

Captivated so, by that mackerel sky,
Physical wants I can’t defy.
Pangs of thirst singe my throat,
No other emotions of more worthy note.

Rude Awakening

Just last night I saw you then,
My dreams so vivid, my life a blur.
I clung to them with hopes in vain,
To be with you all night my dear.

Dressed in white, you seemed to glow,
You look in pain, in spirits low,
The look of death written on your face,
Seemed to set my mind ablaze.

Had you seen a ghost I thought,
Or did you reflect what was to become
Of me a minstrel who always sought,
To be undone by your piercing moan.

I heard you cry as you held me tight,
The drops of tears drenched my might.
I gasped for breath, and felt the tide
You seemed to fade, let images slide.

Now I remember being there alone.
They read my sins, my debt aloud,
They told that I had left undone
A tale of love, and people in doubt.

And here I am, burning in hell,
Lost in thoughts with memories to sell.
And suddenly I open my eye again,
With you by my side, my lips all stained.
Nothing's worth your watery eyes,
No solemn pledge, no broken ties.
Closed doors do seldom stay,
You know the sun rises everyday.

None a tale of broken hearts,
Mends when ways of lovers part.
No one's hurt by one more try,
In every drop an ocean lies.

Fidus Achates

I scribbled and squabbled,
I dribbled and dabbled,
I went around, across and through,
To say these very words to you.

I know its true, I know its sad,
Just the thought drives me mad.

I know somewhere we went all wrong.
But together is where we belong.

Those cherished moments, we spent together.
We braved the winds, the rain, the weather.
The chuckled laughter, that rare try,
To catch that elusive tear, leaving your eye.

A moments silence, a sapling not watered.
Another friendship musn’t be slaughtered,
In the altar of ego and pride,
Stop this flow, lets scale the tide.

We could always start from scratch
Greet the dawn, let our friendship hatch.
Autumn’s over, so is the winter chill,
The joys of spring our hearts shall fill.

I scribbled and squabbled,
You dribbled and dabbled,
We went around, across and through,
I’m glad I said these words to you.
